Membangun sebuah toko online berbasis open source

Tak dapat kita pungkiri lagi bahwa saat ini internet sudah menjadi bagian dari sebagian kehidupan masyarakat kita. Meskipun indonesia masih dikategorikan kedalam negara berkembang, jumlah pengguna Internet di negeri ini tidak dapat dibilang kecil. Tengok saja dari tulisannya om romi tentang online personal branding yang mengatakan bahwa ” Jumlah pengguna Internet di Indonesia, menurut data terakhir dari Internet World Stats, mencapai 25 juta orang. Rangking Indonesia untuk jumlah pengguna Internet setara dengan Spanyol, dan jauh meninggalkan negara tetangga kita seperti Philipina, Malaysia dan Vietnam. Dukungan total dari 25 juta pengguna Internet, lebih dari cukup sebagai syarat minimal untuk maju menjadi calon RI-1. Sesuai dengan UU Pemilu yang mensyaratkan bahwa calon presiden harus mendapat dukungan minimal 25% suara nasional (sekitar 23.9 juta) “.

Nah, dengan dasar tersebut dapat dilihat betapa dahsyat dan besarnya pengguna makhluk yang bernama internet tersebut. Dari hanya sekedar bersendau gurau, saling berkenalan, mencari ilmu bahkan sampai berbelanja pun dapat kita lakukan melalui internet. Untuk hal yang terakhir inilah (berbelanja) yang saat ini sedang gencar di lirik oleh para pengusaha, baik skala kecil, menengah dan besar sekalipun. Bagaimana tidak, dengan modal yang relatif lebih sedikit (karena tidak memerlukan tempat untuk berjualan) dari pada cara berdagang konvensional, seseorang dapat menawarkan produknya sampai ke pengguna yang berada di belahan benua yang berbeda sekalipun. Sedangkan untuk para pebisnis yang telah jalan, juga dapat menambahkan fitur online store ini untuk lebih mengembangkan market yang ada.

Membangun sebuah online store sendiri termasuk gampang-gampang susah. Susah kalo kita harus membangun semuanya dari awal sendiri, terutama dibagian payment nya. Gampangnya karna saat ini telah banyak orang yang berbaik hati telah membuatkan semua itu. Kita hanya tinggal merubah tampilan dan menyesuaikan beberapa konfigurasi agar sesuai dengan keinginan kita. Berikut beberapa program yang bisa dicoba untuk membuat online store sendiri berbasis PHP :

• CartStore Shopping Cart
  CartStore is a sophisticated ecommerce platform that was built for actual real ecommerce websites. It has been in development since March of 2000. It was forked from the osCommerce project in 2006 where extensive development and modernization occurred.
• ChromiumCart

• DantoCart
  DantoCart is an open source shopping cart solution released under the GNU General Public License. This means that you are free to use, distribute and modify DantoCart under the terms of the GNU License.
• eclime – smarty shopping cart
  eclime is a very powerful e-commerce/shopping cart software based on osCommerce 2.2 solid engine It has all the features needed to run a successful internet store and can be customized to whatever configuration you need.
• Freeway
  Freeway is the most advanced Open Source eCommerce platform and includes an array of features not found in extremely expensive commercial systems. Without having to purchase a commercial system and then paying a developer to build custom installation
• Magento

• Opencart
  OpenCart is an open source PHP-based online shopping cart system. A robust e-commerce solution for Internet merchants with the ability to create their own online business and participate in e-commerce at a minimal cost.
• osCommerce
  osCommerce is the leading Open Source online shop e-commerce solution that is available for free under the GNU General Public License. It features a rich set of out-of-the-box online shopping cart functionality that allows store owners to setup, run, and maintain their online stores with minimum effort and with no costs, license fees, or limitations involved.
• osCSS
  osCSS web standard compliant open source online shop. The design structure is based on a template system, easyly customisable and build on CSS / XHTML
• PrestaShop
  Despite its technical sophistication and advanced functionality, the PrestaShop e-Commerce Solution is very light (around 2 MB not including translation files), so it’s easy to download, install, and update.
• Zen Cart
  Zen Cart truly is the art of e-commerce; a free, user-friendly, open source shopping cart system. The software is being developed by group of like-minded shop owners, programmers, designers, and consultants that think e-commerce could be and should be done differently. Some solutions seem to be complicated programming exercises instead of responding to users’ needs, Zen Cart puts the merchant’s and shopper’s requirements first. Similarly, other programs are nearly impossible to install and use without an IT degree, Zen Cart can be installed and set-up by anyone with the most basic computer skills. Others are so expensive … not Zen Cart it’s FREE!
